About Us

Welcome to DePaul Music Business Organization (DMBO)

We are a DePaul organization exclusively committed to hosting live events, networking opportunities, professional and artist speakers, and more within the music industry. Our members have the opportunity to assist with planning, helping, and joining our executive board as well as becoming involved with various working opportunities within our organization. Besides networking with various professionals, there are opportunities to connect within the club as our members are involved in many fields within the industry, both as professionals and as performers. Additionally, DMBO is open to all students and you do not have to be a Performing Arts Management major or Music Business minor to join. We have many different majors under our membership, all are welcome!

Meet The Team

Emily Robinson

President

I'm Emily, I'm a junior double majoring in Honors Marketing and Economic Data Analytics with a minor in Music Business. I'm currently interning for Sumerian Records in their Marketing and A&R departments, but I've done some work with a few local bands and companies independently and on the behalf of DMBO. I manage an artist as well, Rytas, and am the Marketing Director of a small film production company, Paper Crown Pictures. I'm most likely at a show on any given weekend, (for work or leisure) and love learning about all new types of music. I was a classical vocalist my entire life and an avid theater + orchestra kid. I absolutely love the community surrounding DMBO and am so grateful to be apart of its leadership this year.

Aditama Van Dyke

Hey! I’m Maria, a senior originally from Atlanta, Georgia and studying Business Management with a minor in Music Business. I’m also currently working on my graduate degree in Marketing. I have been working part-time for The Orchard since 2019 as their Chicago College Marketing Representative, having worked on over 250 campaigns for over 100 different artists. I also previously worked as an intern at Music Garage focusing on Marketing, Featured Artists, Social Media, and Venue Relations.

Bobby Stempien

What's up! I'm Bobby Stempien (he/him), and I'm currently a Senior at DePaul from Chicago. I study Marketing with a Music Business Minor, aspiring to do A&R for a career. I've been working at Universal Music Group as part of their internal creative solutions team, º1824, for roughly a year. As DMBO's Event Coordinator, I oversee the planning of events, in addition to ideating and proposing them. These can range from house shows, to industry panels/speaking opportunities, to meet & greets with artists, and beyond.

David Choi

Hello! I’m a second year finance student with an interest in the creative industries of music, fashion and art. This year I’ll be serving as the treasurer of the DePaul Music Business Organization, managing and distributing all the funds associated with DMBO. Although I haven’t attained a position in the music industry just yet, I recently got the position of Finance ambassador for the Chicago Fashion Coalition. So if you enjoy finding the mediums between business and art, let’s talk!

Hi! I’m Gaby (she/her), one of the marketing chairs of DMBO. I’m currently a sophomore at DePaul majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Music Business. Sometimes you might also find me working shows at the Aragon Ballroom with Live Nation. As marketing chair of DMBO, I help promote our events, opportunities, and local artists to expand our community and reach as an organization!

Savannah Parker

Hi! My name is Savannah Parker! I am from Seattle Washington and I’m currently a Junior. I’m Majoring in communications and media and minoring in music business as well as graphic design. I am the Secretary for DMBO. I’m interested in the publishing and music production sectors of the music business. I hope to help establish a sense of community for those interested in music and beyond.

Hello, my name is Lillian Murphy! I am a senior at DePaul University studying Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship. This year, I am the Fundraising Chair of DePaul Music Business Organization. I absolutely love the entertainment industry and cannot wait to work for it full time after I graduate. Outside of school and work, I love to go to live music, comedy, and drag shows around Chicago. I am so excited for this school year!
